Greetings to you all.
Here I am once again deeply into the season of fall, 26 years since my 2 months in the woods of Door County, WI.
I am now living in our new home, having moved last spring to Illinois to be closer to our grandchildren. Our townhouse is graced with maple trees in the front, and large old, wise evergreens on the side.
The branches of these trees are not far from our windows. I can open the window and almost touch the branches of the maples, now surprising us with brightly orange and red-colored leaves dancing in the wind.
Yesterday I found one leaf sitting on the bedroom windowsill. I brought it in, as I felt it was there just for me; oh, how it reminds me of the cover of our book, WISDOM FROM THE WOODS.
Am I living an experience of “full circle,” once again in a “treehouse” as I was as a child? Seeing that one familiar-looking leaf, I began to wonder if the wisdom and beauty of trees are a destiny thread that runs through my life, teachers of the cycles and meaning of my life.
I sat in my treehouse at age 10; now at age 75, I am once again finding “home” in a form of “treehouse,” still listening to and learning from the wisdom of the trees. I am filled with awe and wondering as I see how this season of fall has once again touched my soul.
What is this season of fall showing you?
What are you noticing, and what do you hear when you listen to “silence that is filled with the sounds of truth” in this time in your life?
Wishing you a beautiful fall,
Ginny
