Wisdom from the Woods reminded me that we all have unique journeys, and if we continue to search, we will find the answers we need in our own unique ways.
Further reflections & group discussion over the book confirmed for me that my “spiritual reading” is a spiritual practice. Reading a spiritual book has always been my favorite way of connecting with God, of renewing my spirit, and of learning from others who have journeyed ahead of me.
And now I know that I can experience cooking as a spiritual exercise – aware of and grateful for the creative experience and gift of each ingredient that goes into a completed meal.
Wisdom from the Woods has inspired me to approach my daily reflective time with a renewed intention: To relish the opportunity to spend time in God’s presence – and to not only spend time reading my devotional readings but also spend time just being quiet and listening for what God might want me to hear.
